South Sioux City

Oscar Gomez grew up in South Sioux City and graduated from SSC High School in 1993. He went on to attend Briar Cliff University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  Oscar began his career at Siouxland Federal Credit Union and subsequently joined Security National Bank. 

In 2007, Oscar began his Public Service career when he filled a vacancy on the SSC City Council. He served for 10 years on the city council and in 2018, Oscar accepted the position of Assistant City Administrator.  When asked why he enjoys public service, Oscar says “It’s an honor to be working for a community that’s given me so much!”

He’s looking forward to working with city entities and current business owners to leverage the extensive infrastructure SSC has in order to grow new business and attract companies bringing high paying jobs.  Oscar’s proud of the reputation South Sioux City has as a “Great Place to Raise a Family.”

Oscar enjoys boating on the beautiful Missouri River, golfing and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
